Den svenska regeringen är som tidigare berättats måttligt intresserad av att stödja förslaget om ett nytt internationellt ledarskapsforum - Global 25 - för att mer effektivt kunna hantera bland annat klimatfrågan. Detta trots att den arbetsgrupp som lagt fram förslaget bildades på initiativ av Sverige och Frankrike!
Ett ledarskapsforum som verkar få bättre support är Vattenfalls "3C-initiative" som presenterades inför EU- komissionens ordförande José Manuel Barroso den 11 januari (dagen efter EU-kommisionens presentation av en gemensam europeisk energipolitik). I ett pressmeddelande 18/1 skriver Vattenfalls vd Lars G Josefsson bland annat: "President Barroso expressed his strong and wholehearted support and said that this is exactly the type of initiative that is needed. He felt that the global perspective was particularly important and pledged his ongoing co-operation in the future."
Hittills har 15 kommersiella bolag, huvudsakligen stora energibolag anslutit sig till Vattenfalls initiativ (se pressmeddelande 11/1)
"The intention now is to work together with these companies, as well as other companies that join the initiative in the future, in a joint process that will draw conclusions and issue recommendations."
